AI & Robotics Estonia – AIRE is welcoming small and medium-sized enterprises to its training courses on robotics

The artificial intelligence and robotics hub AIRE (AI & RoboticsEstonia) is to start providing support for Estonian industry on how to use artificial intelligence and robotics to increase digitalisation in businesses. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications is putting almost half a million euros into developing AIRE in 2021 and its work will be launched through Estonian universities and science parks.

The AIRE training course in robotics comes in four modules totalling 16 hours and starts on 26 October, and it will teach small and medium-sized industrial enterprises about the goals of using robots, the opportunities they provide, and the feasibility of using them for different tasks such as welding, assembly, machine tooling, packing, moving, grinding and polishing. Different models and methods will be presented that can assess how suitable robots are for a business.

The four modules of the AIRE training course in robotics will be held between 26.10 and 15.11.2021. The course starts with an introductory module for two groups together held online on 26 October, then there are two practical four-hour modules held separately on 2 and 9 November for the group in Tallinn and on 3 and 10 November for the group in Tartu as physical in-person sessions, and the final four-hour module with a two groups again together online on 15 November.

Topics covered in the training:
Module 1  The needs and challenges of robotisation in businesses
Module 2  Feasibility assessment for robotisation
Module 3  Rational choice of robots
Module 4  Integrating a robotised working environment into the production system and using it successfully

The trainer is the very experienced expert on robotics, Jüri Riives from IMECC OÜ.

The training course is free, but registration in advance is required. Please register by 20 October 2021. Before the first session on 26 October, we would ask all participants to complete the digital readiness assessment survey, for which we will email a link after registration. We will also send a detailed training programme to all those who have registered, with the online links for the training and the locations of the in-person sessions. We expect that all those who register will attend all of the modules of the training course.
