AIRE Club #41 AI Literacy Day 2025
AI Literacy Day
At TalTech’s AI Literacy Day, discussions were held from various angles on how Estonia could continue to remain at the forefront of artificial intelligence implementation.
AIRE Executive Director Kirke Maar participated alongside Heisi Kurik and Keiro Nurme in the panel “Estonia 2030: The World’s First AI-Literate Nation”.
Kirke Maar highlighted that smart robotics, machine vision, and automated quality control could make industrial processes significantly more efficient and profitable. Naturally, this involves preliminary testing and assessment of AI-related risks and cyber threats.
This is precisely the kind of support and solutions AIRE offers to companies, enabling them to safely test and implement new opportunities.
Kirke Maar also emphasized the need to increase artificial intelligence awareness, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises, and highlighted three Estonian strengths:
• courage to experiment;
• flexibility in navigating regulations; and
• a supportive and collaboration-oriented community.
She added that it’s important to also monitor developments in neighboring countries – for example, in Lithuania, both chip technology and artificial intelligence development are advancing rapidly, which is shaping the future of the entire region.
