2023: Testing of cobots enabling new product lines
Tested new methods to produce mat-type material from wood springs, building on current equipment and complementing it with a collaborative robot. The possibilities of shaping the wooden spring with a suitable gripping method were investigated to find the optimal solution to produce this type of packaging material. The trajectories and kinematics found by the collaborative robot (Omron) will later be used as input for the development of the next generation production machine. Prototype solutions developed during the project:

a machine vision system to collect data on the products (image data);

a cobot system to allow spring installation and testing of mat assembly;

a simulation environment in RoboDK environment and a program structure in TMFlow environment to allow programming of the robotic system.
