AIRE’s Kirke Maar Moves to Government Office to Lead National AI Push
Kirke Maar, the long-time director of AIRE (AI & Robotics Estonia), will assume leadership of the Government Office’s Eesti.ai initiative starting in April. Maar has led the AI and robotics center for over five years, overseeing its creation and strategic development.
Eesti.ai is a nationally coordinated program developed in partnership with international experts and enterprises, aimed at systematically implementing artificial intelligence across all sectors of Estonia’s economy.
Maar believes the new role will enable her to significantly support Estonia’s economic development and foster systematic public-private sector collaboration in AI adoption.
“My experience over recent years clearly demonstrates that Estonia needs bold and clear national-level direction in AI development. Only through better coordination and systematic cooperation with the private sector and other ecosystem players can we establish common goals and accelerate economic growth,” Maar stated.
Based at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), AIRE (AI & Robotics Estonia) is committed to strengthening the competitiveness of Estonian industrial companies by facilitating their adoption of AI and robotics solutions.
