2024: Testing of video stream based pallet movement detection system in realistic production process

The aim of the project is to validate the efficacy of a video stream based pallet detection system developed in collaboration with AS Valdek in a realistic production process scenario. A custom pallet tracking solution based on EVA and Mask DINO models published in 2023, that had been amended with a constraint-based filtering solution will be validated. The performance of the models to optimize hardware resource requirements will be improved. In addition, the results of the video-based tracking with the data from the information system of the company to, on the one hand detect the quality of detections and, on the other hand, detect imperfections of the data represented in the information system will be validated. In the case of successful completion of the project, it will be possible to reach a situation where the states of the actual intermediate storage and the digital twin of the storage have minimal differences and save hundreds of work hours per month that have currently been spent of searching misplaced products in the intermediate storage.
