The project aims to test automation of the operation of a new generation of video cameras for endoscopic surgical operations and other procedures using an AI-technology so that the surgeon no longer has to hold the endoscope (arthroscope, laparoscope, cystoscope, thoracoscope, etc.) in his or her hand during the operation and can focus on operating with two hands at the same time.
The development of different AI technologies to work together to control the device in a way that suits us, which will be implemented in the framework of the demonstration project, will set the stage for producing an AI-controlled device that can work in medicine.
Thanks to the demonstration project and opportunity to validate the new approach, obtaining a result and deciding in which direction to develop an AI system that will work on an actual device will be possible. This will allow us to calculate the timeframe, volume, manpower, and future investment needed to realise an AI technology device.
