Kirke Maar: Estonia’s new economic leap needs more and better cooperation. Quickly!
In the opinion article “Estonia’s new economic leap needs more and better cooperation. Fast!” (Industry News, 27.05.2024), Kirke Maar, Head of AIRE Centre, talks about how somewhere, new systems and solutions are creating new growth, laying the foundations for prosperity. But for some reason, this is not happening in Estonia.
Kirke points out, from AIRE’s experience as well as from research, that the biggest barrier to innovation is the fear of failure. She says that it is very difficult for entrepreneurs to make meaningful choices in a field as fast developing as AI and robotics. Making the wrong technology choice or failing to implement it can lead to very real and painful economic setbacks.
In order to make the leap into an AI and robotics-based future, companies need knowledge, experience-sharing and labs to test. They need capital, services and talent. And most importantly, they need them fast.
Kirke invites us to think about how we can create more efficient and faster-impacting collaboration models that benefit all parties (entrepreneurs, researchers, etc.).
