2021: Health monitoring platform for orthopaedic devices
The aim of the demonstration project is to develop a secure health technology platform to connect all orthopaedic devices in the future. The topic is broad and there are many problems to be solved, so it was initially decided to focus on the example of a scoliosis corset. A sensor attached to the corset and a platform for processing data from the sensor have been developed. In collaboration with the doctors at the Ida-Tallinna Central Hospital, an artificial intelligence component will also be implemented on the platform, which could in the future autonomously help patients to heal faster. According to Tauno Otto, head of the demonstration project, the platform has been designed from the outset to be universal, for example, it is possible in the future to develop the ability to predict trauma in the workplace using artificial intelligence.
